In medieval and early modern Germany, the Münzmeister ("mint master", the Latin term is monetarius) was the director or administrator of a mint, a moneyer with responsibility for the minting of coins, or specie. His duties were defined differently at different locations and ages.

BOELGAR, HUBERT VAN
BOELGAR, HUBERT VAN (Belg.). Jeweller and Seal-engraver; worked for the Abbey of Grand Bigard, near Brussels. He is mentioned from 1497 to 1500, and is the author of a seal of Marguerite de Douvrin, who succeeded Philippa Smols as Abbess. He also engraved her arms on plate, and in Feb. 1500, repaired her ring. The signature of this Gem-engraver BOH?OY is found in relief on a cameo of the Beverley Collection, representing Philoctetes seated dressing the wound on his right foot and holding a bird's wing.
