BORRIEN AND MAGENS (Brit.). " In the year 1798, in consequence of the extreme scarcity of silver money, Messrs. Dorrien and Magens sent a quantity of bullion to the Mint to be coined according to the law, which had never been repealed, by which it was enacted that any one sending bullion to the Mint might have it coined into money, upon the payment of certain dues. BOSKAM, JAN (Dutch). Medallist of Nimwegen, who flourished at the end of the seventeenth and beginning of the eighteenth century. He worked for William III. until 1703, when he went to Berlin, but returned to Amsterdam in 1706, where we still find him in 1708.
