HOHLEISEN, CHRISTIAN (Germ.). Mint-master and Engraver at Augsburg, end of the seventeenth century. His initials occur on coins struck at that Mint, and on Thalers of the Suabian District, issued in 1694 by Prince-Bishop of Constance Marquard Rudolf von Rodt. In 1713 he signed a contract with the town for the restriking of silver to the amount of 100.000 Gulden. His productions are also signed with A between two wimbles. Bibliography. — C.
