DORPE, ROMBAUT VAN DEN (Belg.). Goldsmith of Malines at the beginning of the sixteenth century. He engraved in 1524 a seal for the Emperor Charles V. ; it represents the sovereign seated on throne, surrounded by the arms of the Empire and those of the seventeen provinces of the Netherlands; the legend is : S.CAROLI DEI GRA R'ONOR I'RATOR HISPR REG ARCHD AVST DVC BVRG BRABA LVCEB'GI COI'T FLA'D HO'E.
