Son of the celebrated Medallist, Guillaume Dupré; was born in 1604; succeeded his father as “Contrôleur général des Effigies des Monnaies" in 1639, gunfounder to Victor Amadeus I. of Savoy, died in 1647, leaving a son, under age, from whose guardian Jean Varin purchased the office of Comptroller.
