FÜSSLI, PETER (Swiss). Bell-founder of Zurich, beginning of the seventeenth century, who is supposed to have had some connec- tion with the Mint and have been employed there as engraver. There is a bell at Zug, dated 1619, cast by him, which bears fifteen figures of saints, the shield of arms of Zug, and the inscription MONETA NOVA TUGIENSIS. This is perhaps the only bell with a monetary legend. Bibliography. — Bulletin de la Société suisse de numismatique, 1887, p. 139.
