In medieval and early modern Germany, the Münzmeister ("mint master", the Latin term is monetarius) was the director or administrator of a mint, a moneyer with responsibility for the minting of coins, or specie. His duties were defined differently at different locations and ages.

GAVINO, GIOVANNI (Ital.). Medallist of note, born at Padua in 1499 or 1500, where he died in 1570. GAYRARD, PAUL (French). Son of Raymond Gayrard, born at Clermont (Puy-de-D?me), died on the 2nd July, 1855 ; Sculptor and Medallist; pupil ot his father and others ; was awarded medals of the second class in 1834 and first class in 1846; decorated with the Legion of Honour in 1853. By him are Portrait-medallions of public and private persons, which were exhibited at the Salons between 1831 and 1855.
