GUEST, WILLIAM (Brit.). A teller in the Bank of England, who was proved to have been in the habit of filing some of the guineas in his charge, and afterwards making a newly milled edge with an ingenious machine invented by himself. He filled the post of Medallist to the Mint at Berlin, between 1830-1840, when on account of increasing blindness he retired to his native town of Suhl.
