HAMERAN, JOHANN ANDREAS (Germ.). Medallist of the first half of the seventeenth century. He was born at Hermannskirchen in Bavaria and settled at Rome under the pontificate of Paul V. (1605-1621). This engraver was the ancestor of the celebrated family of medallists who worked for the Papal Zecca for nearly two centuries.
