CHAPU, HENRI MICHEL ANTOINE (French). Sculptor, and Medallist, born at Le Mée (Seine-et Marne), on the 29th of September, 1833, died at Paris, on the 21st of April, 1891. A pupil of Pradier, Duret, and Léon Cogniet, he was received at the Ecole des Beaux- Arts in 1849. In 1851, and again in 1853, he obtained the second Prix de Rome, and at the Salons of 1855, 1863, 1865, and 1866 he was awarded medals of honour.
