JALEY, LOUIS (French). Medallist, born at Charité-sur-Loire, near St. Etienne (Loire) in 1763 ; died at Paris in 1838. He was a pupil of Moitte and Dupré, and distinguished himself as an Engraver of medals of the Napoleonic series.
