In medieval and early modern Germany, the Münzmeister ("mint master", the Latin term is monetarius) was the director or administrator of a mint, a moneyer with responsibility for the minting of coins, or specie. His duties were defined differently at different locations and ages.

JAUNER, HEINRICH (Austr.). Contemporary Medallist, residing at Vienna. He is " K. K. Hof-Kammer-Graveur ", but began his artistic career as a Painter, having studied under Waldmüller. His father was the founder of one of the foremost Die-sinking establishments in Vienna, at the head of which he now is. JEANNERET, FRANCOIS (Swiss). Engraver of metallic dials for watches first half of the nineteenth century. He resided at Chauxde-Fonds where the Rue du Balancier was named after the big press he used to have in that street. The medal of the " Société des Armes Réunies ", engraved on R. 7e Médaille. 1er Prix de 1826, is by Jeanneret. Klentschy, another Medal-engraver ot Chaux-de-Fonds, was apprenticed to him. JEHOTTE, CONSTANT (Belg.). Medallist of the nineteenth century, born at Liége on the 15th of January 1809 ; died on the 12th of April 1883. He studied drawing at the schools of his native city and learnt medal-engraving under his father Leonard Jéhotte.
