In medieval and early modern Germany, the Münzmeister ("mint master", the Latin term is monetarius) was the director or administrator of a mint, a moneyer with responsibility for the minting of coins, or specie. His duties were defined differently at different locations and ages.

JÉHOTTE, LÉONARD (Belg.). Medallist, born on the 1st August 1772 at Herstal, died at Maestricht, 1st August 1851. He was first apprenticed to a watchmaker, but before long it became evident that nature had endowed him with uncommon gifts for the plastic arts and that his career was laid out in a different direction.
