Born at Breslau, he undertook in 1614 to work the Mint of Troppau, in conjunction with Stenzel Aichhäuser ; two years later he contracted for the Mint of Vienna, was imprisoned in 1619 for dishonesty, acquitted the next year, and appointed Mint-master at Vienna, on the 5th of March 1639, a post which he retained until 1643.
