In medieval and early modern Germany, the Münzmeister ("mint master", the Latin term is monetarius) was the director or administrator of a mint, a moneyer with responsibility for the minting of coins, or specie. His duties were defined differently at different locations and ages.

JOUVENEL, ADOLPHE CHRISTIAN (Belg.). Sculptor and Medallist, born at Lille on the 10th May, 1798, died at Brussels on the 9th September, 1867. He was the son of the Sculptor and Medallist Jean Baptiste Clément Jouvenel, and pupil of Rude. In 1846, Jouvenel undertook the publication of a Series of Portrait-medals of the celebrities of his country.
