LAMBELET, SAMUEL (Germ.). Medallist of the latter end of the seventeenth century, and first three decades of the eighteenth, circ. 1698-1727. He was a native of Clausthal, but his family must have originally come from Neuchâtel. Previous to 1699 he may have worked for some time at Paris and is said to have been engaged on the medallic series of Louis XIV., as some of his signed medals show, and from 1699 to 1727 he was Medallist to the House of Brunswick- Lüneburg.
