MONIÉ (French). Engraver of the first quarter of the eighteenth century, whose signature (MONIÉ F.) occurs on a Portrait-medal of Charles Dommey (48 mill.), a specimen of which was in the late Baron Pichon's Collection (lot 516). Monié was working at Paris in the second half of the eighteenth century. The Dommey medal is of that epoch. By this engraver are jetons of the Six corporations of merchants of Paris, 1780, and others (Note de M. Florange).
