MORGANTI, BENTO or BENVENUTO (ltal.). Medallist of the early part of the eighteenth century, born at Rome, studied at Co?mbra (Portugal). His father was librarian to Don Thomas d' Almeida, first patriarch of Lisbon. The artist distinguished himself in Portugal as an Engraver of coins and medals, some of which are described in the work : Numismalogia, o breve recopilacao das algumas medalhas dos imperadores romanos, Lisbon, 1737.
