MONNIER, CLAUDE (French). Mint-master at Romans, previous to 1537 (from circ. 1500) and again after 1540; on 1. February 1543 he was appointed for the third time, and resigned in 1548. His issues are signed either CM or M. He may be the author of a medal with portrait of Francis, Duke of Valois, Count of Angoul?me; R.
