Gebert, Geschichte der Münzstätte der Reichstadt Nürnberg, p. 102, reproduced Nürnberger's portrait, after Sandrart, and from this engraving we learn that this Mint-master was born in 1598 and died, 21. He retained his father's privy-mark, a small cross, adding his initials GFN. on the larger coins.
