DONNER, IGNAZ (Germ.). Medallist and Coin-engraver at the Mint of Vienna, 1776-1804. He was a nephew of Matthäus Donner, and was born at Kremnitz in 1752. His signature appears as I. D. His name appears on documents quoted by Burns and Cochran-Patrick in connection with a proposal he made, following the proclamation of the 12th July 1695, by which the rates of the silver coins were to be raised, that the altered values should be placed upon the coins.
