LINCKE or LYNCH or LINCHE, GERMAYNE (Brit.). Master of the Mints in Ireland, from the end of Henry VI. 's reign to the 13th year of Edward IV. He was indicted, An 12 Edward IV. (1462) "for that when the statute said, that every pound of Bullion coined, should be forty-four shillings in money, he coined out of every pound forty-eight shillings, and that he coined at Drogheda one thousand groats, which being tried, it was found that eleven weighed but three-quarters of an ounce" and found guilty; but the King having, by letters patent, granted him his pardon in 1473, he was again employed.
